So my schedule with the new job, and school, as well as other stuff has made keeping the blog up to date super hard. I fully intend on starting regular postings again, I just need to to start learning how to work around my days lacking almost any free time. Really important things I will still put on the site. Just give me a little time and I’ll get things back on track. Hope everyone understands!
Voyageur Canoeing
So we will be doing a day of Voyageur canoeing on February 27th. I’m not to sure of any other details at the moment, but I will be sure to put them up once I get any.
Ropes Course Info
The ropes course will be taking place on February 13th. We will be meeting in front of the Sportsplex at 7:30AM, and will be back at Cap College by 5:30PM. Make sure to dress warmly as it tends to get cold where we are going. Also, be aware that lunch is included, so there is no need to bring food unless you want snacks.
Some Updates
Just a few date updates. The Financial Planning quiz has been pushed back until next class, on Thursday. The Caulfield Cove trip for Interpreting Landscape has been pushed back until February 1st. We will meet there at 10:45. Catherine will give us directions at some point before that date. The report on Caufield Cove will be due on February 8th. The test date for this class has beeen pushed back until February 13th.
compasses find compassion
Please bring your compass to class tomorrow(wed) for Haemish so it can be used to find peace and compassion in young children through a program on Vancouver Island. Feel the joy of helping a young child overcome fears and gain a sense of accomplishment while using your compass as a tool in finding themselves.
Also make sure to put your intials on it incase the little brat breaks it.
peace out
-Keith
Volunteering At The Capilano Booth
So with the Outdoor Adventure Show coming up soon, some people will be needed to volunteer their time at the Capilano College booth. You’ll be promoting the Outdoor Rec program, and I think the Tourism as well. About 5 people will be needed, and both Haemish and I are interested in doing this, so we still need a few more folks. Just let Greig know if you would like to jump on board.
Mining Trip Info
Here is some info about the mining trip. It’s taking place on Tuesday, January 30th, and we’re meeting in front of the sportsplex at 10:45AM, after Financial Planning. We will be back at Cap College by 3:00PM. Be sure to bring a headlamp, warm clothes, boots, and a lunch. Wear a hat as well!

The Yeti Snowshoe Race
So I’m thinking of doing a snowshoe race called The Yeti in the next little while. There are a few race dates, and the option to go as a team is also there. I think it would be great if we put together a Cap Rec Team. Blow the competiton out of the water… or snow I guess. Anyways, I will be sure to bring the topic up on Monday – so let me know if you’re interested. More information is available here.
P.S. It doesnt matter if you dont have snowshoes… you can rent. I will most likely end up renting as well, even though I have snowshoes. To do well you need specific running snowshoes.
